*Scope: * The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in the business, maintaining accurate financial records and supporting various business functions.
This employee is a self-starter, problem solver, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
*Duties and Responsibilities: * · Contribute in all functional accounting areas on a daily basis.
· Coordinate with Supply Chain and other departments to resolve any Vendor issues.
· Accurately voucher vendor invoices in a timely manner · Engage as required as an ERP implementation team member.
· Prepare period end bank and other GL account reconciliations for review.
· Prepare period end journal entries for review.
· Undertake inventory cost allocation and cost relief calculations for review.
· Provide ad-hoc analytical support to the CFO.
· Participate in special projects as requested by the CFO.
· Assist the CFO in monitoring compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures and internal controls.
· Support the annual budget process as requested by the CFO.
· Generate cost reports for departments for review by the CFO.
· Create accurate and timely draft financial statements for review by CFO.
· Support audit processes as required.
· Willing to supervise and train junior staff in accounting department functions.
*Required Skills and Qualifications:* · Bachelor’s level Business Degree with focus in accounting preferred.
· 3 years’ experience in mining, manufacturing, or construction accounting.
· Min.
of 3 years of progressive accounting experience · Experience working in an integrated ERP environment such as SAP, Pronto, JD Edwards preferred.
· Completed or actively pursuing a CPA, CMA, or CGA designation preferred.
· Willingness to learn.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with good Excel skills.
*Physical Demands:* To be eligible for this position, an individual must possess the following requirements to perform the essential job functions: * Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking on uneven surfaces, pushing, pulling, lifting, keyboarding, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
* Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather.
* Able to operate a telephone and mine phone/radio with sufficient voice and hearing to carry on a conversation for the purpose of communicating information.
* Able to hear sufficiently to distinguish various pitches of warning alarms.
* Able to lift up to 25 pounds periodically.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $79,000.
