EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Supervise, maintain and develop grants accounting subsystem functions.
Monitor and prepare reports for all restricted funds (e.
g.
federal, state, and local grants).
Assist supervisor in identifying potential problems and revising budgets.
Analyze financial data for the grants and meet with grant managers to provide financial status updates.
Grant managers will utilize the provided information to ensure that their grant expenditures maintain compliance with grant rules and regulations.
Provide technical assistance to grant fund users regarding purchasing, budgeting and accounting questions.
Prepare draw-down requests for grants requiring funding through this process.
Gather and compile financial and statistical data (e.
g.
expenditures, cash flow and billing information); review and analyze data for cost distribution and budget control; post/record entries into appropriate journals and prepare reports detailing information.
Recommend/implement improvements and enhancements to existing accounting procedures and processes relating to grants management.
Work with grant managers to review processes and create new account codes for newly awarded grants.
Serve as resident expert on grant accounting procedures.
Audit grants to ensure compliance with accounting regulations; bring instances of non-compliance to the attention of the Chief Financial Officer.
Design and execute monitoring processes.
Collect and analyze data, document results and identify any potential issues regarding accounting processes/procedures.
Develop and maintain the fixed asset program.
Adhere to college administrative policies and procedures, state and federal guidelines, initiatives and directives to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations affecting college operations.
Develop/write reports and forms.
Perform other tasks of a similar nature or level as assigned.
