Lead Accounting Staff

JOB TITLE: Lead Accounting Staff DEPARTMENT: Accounting REPORT TO: Senior Accountant SALARY: $ 23.
00 - $ 25.
00 / Hour POSTION TYPE: Full Time: ROLE AND RESPON:SIBILITIES:: - Supports and oversees accounting staff in absence of the Senior Accountant.
- Provide financial Information by researching and analyzing accounting data.
- Track incoming payments to the Tribe and review against bank statements.
- Reconcile and record grants and contracts deferred revenue and unallowable expense transactions monthly.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and provide balance report to Senior Accountant.
- Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
- Document financial transactions and recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
- Support payroll functions at a backup capacity and all accounts receivable functions conducted by AR Clerk.
- Assist in budget preparation and maintenance.
- Assist record and reconcile all payments made to the Tribe, including Utility Water, Realty, Conservation, Tribal Court, and other funding sources.
- Working with accounts receivable clerk to maintain all purchase orders, check requests records.
- Maintain inventory records for Tribal Capital equipment ledger.
- Assist annual per-capita and Minor Trust fund accounts distributions.
- Maintain 1099 records for vendors and Tribal roll.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing accounts payable.
- Support all Tribal events coordinated by the Tribal Administration.
- Other duties assigned include assisting the accounting department with filing and yearend financial audits.
QUALIFICATIONS:: - MAA Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience in accounting.
- Experience working in Windows environment and MIP accounting system preferred.
- Excellent Reporting skills.
- Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Ability to travel when required.
- Must be able to be bonded.
- Insurable by CIT insurance carrier.
- Pass financial background clearance check.
